D'Jay JAckson
DJ Jackson has been around dogs most of his life. Since he was a child, he has had a special sense for connecting with them.
His initial contact with Belgian Malinois goes back three decades, when a friend’s father introduced him to the breed.
As a member of the Central Islip Fire Department, on Long Island, NY, DJ’s appreciation for working dogs emerged. He was fascinated by the firehouse dalmatians intelligence, instinct, and ability to bond with firehouse personnel. The dog was considered an integral part of the team.
During his tenure in Winston Salem, North Carolina, as a firefighter and EMT, DJ had an opportunity to work with law enforcement and arson K9 teams. During his days off he often worked with rescue and tracking K9 teams and grew to appreciate how the K9s and their handlers had to be in-sync with each other. This passion for working dogs led him to train his first K9.
Today, you can find DJ handling and training single and multipurpose canines throughout the New York Tristate area.
By engaging with certified first responder K9 units and training for sporting competitions he has expanded his skill set as trainer, handler, and breeder.
